Omega & The Luxury Of Time

Last night I attended the very posh & highly exclusive Vogue & Omega Ladymatic Preview soiree benefiting the Karen Moyer Foundation.

This amazing charity helps children in distress through education and various support programs, “helping them to live healthy & inspired lives” and 10% of each purchase respectfully went to the Foundation. The luxurious festivities were held at the newly opened Omega Boutique at The Fairmont Olympic Hotel in Seattle. The luxe boutique rooms were full of press, socialites, photogs and aficionados who welcomed the press & eager buyers to ogle the fine timepieces Omega has to offer- especially their newest line for women.

With Nicole Kidman at the helm as center of the promo campaign, she has been a member of the brand ambassador family since 2005. Nicole helps to emphasize Ladymatic’s luxury appeal but Omega’s latest line stands alone as fully feminine with such rich design elements as red gold, mother-of-pearl, diamonds galore, and exclusive Co-Axial calibres which are the best series-produced mechanical watch movements in the world.

Omega’s Ladymatic collection is their only collection designed especially for women. With graceful elements intended to make profound fashion statements, these watches blend that element with their state of the art watchmaking abilities never skimping on design or quality. Ladymatic is definitely bringing sexy back to women’s watches where the men tend to dominate the market. By the way, Omega’s men collections, especially it’s Seamasters designs are hot hot hot. Perhaps it’s George Clooney, brand ambassador since 2007, whose distinguished appeal is all over the promos for the men’s line. Mmmm. Ahoy mateys...

No pun intended but Omega watches are timeless. This particular gold Omega is over 30 years old and its wearer swears by its impeccable quality. It’s gorgeous even after all these decades. It must be something special about owning an Omega, for to obtain this picture, the extensively unknown jewelry collection of its owner was revealed before locating this decades old watches whereabouts. It is kept in a place much more sacred than all the rest because it is in fact an Omega. Made of 24kt gold with nearly flawless diamonds accentuating the face, Omega does not make them like these anymore.

The Ladymatic line consists of watches made from 18kt red (rose) or yellow gold and stainless steel with diamonds boasting the finest cuts, clarity, and color. The scratch-resistant sapphire crystal even had my husband playing the skeptic as he questioned Omega staff whilst I tried on this watch from the De Ville Collection with its signature diamond encircled face.

The Omega staff , industry leaders and Swiss timing experts were all on hand & on point throughout the night aiding and assisting as we discerned which
pieces were our favorites. The Boutique's Assistant Manager, Damon Ono was impressive with full-on product knowledge and expert appeal. Informing us of Omega's unmatched 4-year warranty we left with way more knowledge than we'd imagined we have. Even post-party, Ono has been amazingly professional and we would expect nothing less from Omega. Besides the very chic designs, customer service was top notch at the event and this is not something I say very often as many companies cut back on qualified staff and sales drop as a result. Ridiculous.

As we sipped champagne, nibbled a few tasty hors d’ oevres and made our way through the encompassing Omega boutique, my husband, always dubious, was surprisingly convinced and is now searching for the latest edition to his extensive, and ever growing, watch collection. Omega has us sold.

My favorite design element you ask? The Geneva waves designs seen here are carried throughout the collection. Most pieces incorporate the wave detail within the bands, face perimeter and the very select fine jewelry of the Ladymatic line. I love this conducive element in Omega’s line for the ladies. We pay attention to every element of our ensembles and the matching and coordination of the Geneva waves reiterates the importance of the world of accessories in fashion. Just like the proper outfit, accessories must go

together in order to create a cohesive look.
The Aqua Rings from the Omega Fine Jewelry Collection were the design inspiration for the entirely renewed collection whose origins date back to 1955. This newly renovated collection is the freshest of all things luxury because the iconic Omega took their own classic idea and updated it over fifty years later. If we look to the past for solid inspiration, especially in design elements, then we are destined to find success. Omega has done just that with its Ladymatic Collection by creating a new classic. Ladymatic was just launched this past March and has already found major success for the luxury brand. I was so honored to get to go Inside & take a peek.

Omega-A Journey Through Time is one of the most comprehensive books ever written about a watch brand and spans its entire history. It also exemplifies their devotion to the Omega name and all of the history and quality that it represents. This type of historical knowledge is rare of most brands’ rise to the forefront of their industry but when it comes to serious luxury, they take their history very seriously. Any book spanning the history of a luxury brand for over one hundred years deserves a place on my family’s library shelves for a lifetime.
