Fall Gives Me Fashion Fever

As many of us are finishing up back to school shopping, it is of serious note that we are in the midst of Fashion Weeks worldwide. I cannot tell you how many times I’ve referred to my September issue of Vogue for some more fashion inspiration. Believe it or not all retail clothing pieces are inspired by what goes down the runways of New York, Tokyo, Milan and Paris amonst others. As the precursor to the main events that take place worldwide, the globe also joins together in the name of style for Fashion’s Night Out (FNO). This shopping extravaganza highlights the new looks of the season by celebrating with shopping events all over the fashion world in Spain, Australia, Greece, Mexico and Russia just to name a few. For the past 3 years, this event has brought together shoppers, stylists, designers and more for a night with events that pay tribute to all things fashion. The FNO events held all over the globe cater to its nights attendees with posh parties, designer access & luxury shopper perks. This is a pre-party of sorts for Fall’s latest collections. How convenient that New York Fashion Week starts the next day? I love the fashion immersion that takes place each Fall because it’s ever-present nature makes the whole world aware of style, if only for a second. Just to drop a few names of participating stores: Neiman Marcus, Anthropologie, 7 For All Mankind, Adidas, agnes b., Gucci, and BCBG.

For those of you like me, constantly on the go and quite literally attached to your phone, there is an app, of course, for Fashion’s Night Out that is available for both the iPhone and Android. With one touch you an have access to FNO events worldwide as well as online shopping capabilities for the big night. Style knows no bounds here so basically you have no excuse not to freshen up your look a bit for the season ahead. Consider September 8, 2011 a day of style renewal for yourselves. This day opens the doors for both men and women to celebrate the need to shop no matter how big or small the budget. Indulge in the festivities wherever you are in the real or virtual world and create your own FNO. Simply get inspired by the shows, colors, and new styles. No need to break the bank for couture. Even window shopping counts!

If you cannot make it to the events, be sure to check out the FNO Collection benefitting the NYC Aids fund where you can purchase a luxe piece to commemorate this year’s events. I just purchased a few for myself and of course, as gifts for friends. They are so stylish and the prices are just right especially knowing that I am giving back with each purchase.
